How does sofa bed storage work?

Storage sofa beds have a concealed compartment built beneath the chaise section. The chaise lifts upward on a hinge to reveal the storage space inside; no tools needed, and it holds itself open while you access it. The compartment sits underneath the chaise, whether the sofa is in sofa mode or bed mode. The storage area is designed for soft items: spare duvets, pillows, throws, and bedding are the most common uses. It isn't designed for heavy or rigid objects. 

Can you access the storage without converting the sofa into a bed?

Yes, entirely independently. The lift-up chaise storage is a separate function. You can access it anytime without touching the sleeping mechanism. Lift the chaise, take out or put in bedding, and lower it back down. The sofa stays as a sofa throughout.

• Corner pull-out sofa beds with storage: These convert by pulling the seat base forward to create a larger, more traditional double sleeping surface. And the ARTHUR combines a pull-out double sleeping surface, lift-up chaise storage, adjustable headrests, a built-in cupholder, and a wireless phone charger.

How much can you store in a sofa bed storage compartment?

Enough for a full set of guest bedding. Most of our storage models can comfortably hold a double duvet, two pillows, and a spare throw, which is exactly what you need within reach when converting the sofa into a bed for guests. Exact compartment dimensions are listed on each product page, as they vary slightly among models.

What storage sofa bed fabrics and colours are available?

Our storage sofa bed range is available in chenille and faux leather suede.

Chenille is the most popular fabric across the range, available in grey, beige, pale blue, and green across all five storage models. It has a soft, textured feel that's comfortable against the skin, relevant for a sofa bed where guests will be lying on it without covers, and cleans well with a fabric upholstery cleaner. 

Faux leather suede is available in brown on some of our storage sofa bed models. It's a smooth, matte finish that wipes clean easily, handles spills better than fabric, and doesn't hold onto pet hair. It's the more practical choice for households with children or pets.

How do I clean a sofa bed storage compartment?
